Professionals and amateurs gathered Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds to participate in the Midwest Stone Fest at the Free State Highland Games. As the Journal-World reported, Highland games are a style of traditional Scottish events that have taken place for centuries both in Scotland and around the world, though they’re relatively new to these parts.
