The students and staff of New York Elementary continued an annual tradition Tuesday — serving a community meal the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Volunteers spent Monday and Tuesday preparing food, and they served the meals in a drive-up event on Tuesday evening. The event was sponsored by the school’s PTA and staff, among a host of other sponsors, and leftover meals were slated to be delivered to the Sunrise Project.
