A crowd of a little more than 200 people attended the event Monday morning at Maceli's Banquet Hall in downtown Lawrence.

Dave Tell, a communications professor at the University of Kansas was the keynote speaker at the 13th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Breakfast at Maceli’s Banquet Hall on Monday morning. Tell shared details about his new book “Remembering Emmett Till,” which highlights little known details about the 1955 lynching of a Mississippi youth that Martin Luther King Jr. often spoke of during the civil rights movement.
