Lawrence Memorial Hospital hosted an open house for its entirely renovated Fourth Floor Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, and the facility is now in business.
Totaling approximately $4 million, the renovations include private rooms for 12 acute rehabilitation beds and 14 skilled nursing beds; open dining; a home-like family gathering area; a therapy gym; and an apartment to practice daily living skills, the hospital reported.

All patient rooms on the Fourth Floor Center for Rehabilitation at Lawrence Memorial Hospital are now private, with wide entryways and ADA-compliant bathrooms and showers.

The Fourth Floor Center for Rehabilitation at Lawrence Memorial Hospital includes an apartment with Murphy bed, a kitchenette, washer/dryer and standard bathroom with tub and shower to give patients and families opportunities to practice activities of daily living to help them transition home.

Although there is no equipment yet in place, this will be the dedicated therapy gym with a speech therapy treatment room on the Fourth Floor Center for Rehabilitation at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
