Lawrence fashion designer Margie Hogue says that lately she has been inspired by bright colors, independent designers and slow fashion, which Hogue explained is fashion that is "made by hand in responsible conditions." In her upcoming collection, Hogue says that she drew this inspiration from the bright patterns of guatemalan textiles.

In September 2014, the Chabad Center commissioned a scribe from Israel to write the Torah scroll, which is dedicated in honor of the KU community. Writing a Torah scroll is an important aspect of the Jewish faith, dating back 3,300 years. When completed, the Torah scroll will be comprised of approximately 63 sheets of parchment and contain 304,805 individual letters. Care must be taken when writing a Torah scroll because a single error voids the entire scroll.

A plane is framed against the eclipsing moon Sunday night, Sept. 27, 2015. A harvest moon and the blood moon eclipse has led many to call this event a rare super blood moon. This combination of events won't happen again until 2033.
