Emma Milburn, of Lawrence, earned her Girl Scout Gold Award in January. She is pictured with St. John School teachers Cara Johnson, left, and Pat Domann, right. Emma was also honored in the Kansas House and Senate on Feb. 3 for her scouting accomplishments by Rep. Mike Amyx and Sen. Marci Francisco. Emma, a senior at Lawrence Free State High School, completed her award, the highest individual award in the Girl Scout program, by researching, writing and designing a 34-page history of St. John School and the role of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
