Volunteer Darrah Buren helps stack boxes of Girl Scout cookies, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds after two semitrailers dropped off more than 6,000 cases. Buren and other volunteers organized boxes to be picked up by area troop leaders. Cookies are expected to be available for sale over the weekend at various locations in Lawrence, including both Walmarts, Ace Hardware, Checkers Foods, Fuzzy's Taco Shop and Joann Fabrics. More locations can be found through the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app for smartphones.
