To the editor:

Donald Trump cares much more about short-term economic boom than he does about long-term risks. And the same can be said about his addiction to publicity. Whatever gets him attention, especially if it appeals to his MAGA base, is what he will do or say. This goes for his decision to start the war with Iran, to ban news organizations from the White House, to use pejorative language to members of the press, to implement prosecution of anyone who dared to oppose or investigate his crimes. And his crimes are committed with the short-time goal of immediate grift.

Trump cares nothing about anyone but himself, and his enablers, such as Sens. Marshall and Moran care not about their constituents, but only how to ingratiate themselves with Trump. Maybe they are hoping for a nice comfy appointment in some Republican bastion after their stint as make-believe legislators ends.
