Letter to the editor: The values of Marshall, Trump
To the editor:
Recent news regarding Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall is in conflict with Kansas values. His values are in lockstep with President Donald Trump.
Both rob the poor and give to the rich. I’m sure both Marshall and Trump benefited more from the “Big Beautiful Bill” that Trump proposed and Marshall passed than the voters that elected them.
Next, the tariffs are regressive taxes that raise prices on essential goods and services and weigh more heavily on the poor than more affluent voters.
The Iran War is another example of robbery. With Marshall firmly at his side, Trump chose to attack Iran. We will never know the true cost of this senseless, impulsive act. The irony of this is that all the costs will be paid with stolen money from the American taxpayer through increased debt at higher rates and even higher taxes.
It’s only recently that we’ve learned of Marshall’s love for lawsuits. If you don’t pay (Doc) Marshall, you get slapped with a lawsuit. I don’t recall any provision in the Hippocratic Oath he took to become a doctor that allows for lawsuits or arrests; both of which Marshall is guilty of. Trump’s love of lawsuits is well documented.
Most recently, Marshall finally paid an outstanding debt of six years for $678 to a bakery in Hutchinson. Trump never pays for anything.
I believe Kansas can do better.
