Letter to the editor: Just say no to data centers
To the editor:
Regarding the prospect of allowing data centers to be built in Douglas County: I can’t believe the County Commission is wasting public resources on this. Twenty months working on codes? Really? Commissioners, please remember who you work for – the current taxpayers of Douglas County, not tech bros, crypto scammers, or AI fraudsters. The number of your constituents who will benefit from data centers is miniscule. The number who will be negatively affected, one way or another, is huge. The issue should have received as much debate as a proposed confinement hog operation would. Forget regulations or a moratorium. Show some leadership and issue an outright ban.
