Letter to the editor: When will they part with Trump?

To the editor:

President Trump continues his assault on the rule of law as he turns federal law enforcement into his personal tool for vengeance. Firing Erik Siebert, who had thoroughly investigated potential charges against James Comey and determined there was insufficient evidence to continue, then replacing him with Lindsey Halligan, a lawyer with no prosecutorial experience but who appears to have absolute fealty to the president, is an assault on the future of our democracy. Not only did Trump secure an indictment, he also pronounced James Comey “guilty as hell!” I ask you, when has this type of behavior ever been appropriate in a democracy? The answer is never!

I wonder what presidential actions will be sufficiently criminal for Sens. Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall, and Rep. Tracey Mann to finally stand in opposition.
