Letter to the editor: This is not OK

To the editor:

The time is now! It is urgent we make our voices heard and demand immediate and honest action from our elected Kansas legislators. Write and phone Congress, make signs, get on the street and protest, show your frustrations. Keep remembering those hurt by Trump’s destruction. Let’s put honesty and decency back into the White House!

Our country’s values are being discarded! There’s no plan, no thought, only lies, stupidity, scamming, retribution, extortion, quid pro quo, bullying, racism and ignoring our laws. We have the most incompetent cabinet in history. It reflects the quality of the leader. They ignore science, truth and our U.S. Constitution. They put even more money into rich pockets and never pass an opportunity to praise the dear leader. In the first 100 days not one single “good” benefited our country. Our disabled, elderly, veterans, women, workers, and the hungry and homeless around the world have been trashed! Those needing the most get the least!

Trump’s lust for power has silenced Congress. Republicans say “yes sir,” Democrats sit on their hands. There’s no attempt to exercise powers guaranteed by our Constitution or put checks and balances on Trump. Trump’s lust has expanded to our judiciary. He ignores the rules of law. He has the audacity to ignore the Supreme Court, specifically Chief Justice Roberts’ rulings. His tariffs are inflationary and extremely dangerous. Our allies turn their backs. Our economy tanks and our dollar’s value evaporates! Are we headed toward a depression? Anyone think everything is OK?

Charley Crabtree,
