Letter to the editor: The president is a destroyer
To the editor:
In a recent opinion piece, Froma Harrop asked “Can American democracy rebuild?” I fear it might not and we are on the verge of autocracy. She concludes that Donald Trump does not like America and that his actions seem tied to his stated need for “vengeance.”
I feel that he seems to initiate actions that seem to be destructive rather than constructive. I have always felt that people can be easily divided into builders and destroyers. I classify Donald Trump as a destroyer. He clearly lies even to his supporters, and that is beginning to show a downward slide in his ratings. One can listen to what he says and assume the exact opposite is the actual truth. He makes very strong statements about what he will do and then he can’t produce the dramatic results he claims. It has recently culminated in his statement about his supporters who are wanting information about Jeffrey Epstein to be released. He says about his own supporters, “Stupid Republicans! I don’t want their support anymore.” If a politician said that about me, he would certainly lose my support!
