To the editor:

Robert Reich makes a passionate plea for Americans to help save “our democracy,” by which he seems to mean the Biden presidency. He recommends better messaging to sell Biden’s “vision and accomplishments” and for people to get more politically involved to defeat Trump, “one of the worst demagogues in American history.” He might have shown some curiosity as to why “truly evil” Trump leads Biden in the polls and why his popularity seems to have gone up in response to attempts to remove him — undemocratically — from various state ballots. And he might have called out Biden for violating the Constitution’s separation of powers by using government agencies to usurp Congress’ responsibility to legislate. That’s also a threat to “our democracy.”
