Letter to the editor: City has done a great job
To the editor:
Now is the traditional time for resolutions. This year we can add feelings of resignation by many members of our very troubled society. But, as the year ends I want to publicly thank our elected city officials and staff for the superb job they have done in 2024! They wisely spent our tax dollars, whether from local taxes or siphoned through Washington.
The Sixth Street project is absolutely superb, as is the North Second/Third Stree project. So is the major 23rd Street remodeling. The holiday lighting is the best ever. And, the city has been very diligent with meaningful steps to solve the plight of our homeless citizens. We should all commend their efforts, not sharp-shoot and scapegoat the programs and the victims of circumstances leading some citizens to being houseless.
2024 has been a year of achievement and significant completion. We can all be even more proud to be Lawerencians. Sincere thanks to those who made it happen!
Graham Kreicker,
