Letter to the editor: Thank you, first responders
To the editor:
On Monday afternoon, we had a fire at 600 North St. We would like to give praise to Lawrence Fire Chief Richard Llewellyn and his entire department for their prompt and incredibly competent action to contain the fire at this residence. All of the first responders demonstrated professionalism and sensitivity to what could have been a devastating situation.
Further, the damage was minimized by smart decisions made by the first-response team. The approach the fire team took saved precious personal items and minimized damage that would have otherwise occurred. When we arrived on the scene, we were met by Zach Taylor and Scott Seratte. In a small community when a tragedy occurs, it is always comforting to see friendly faces on your side. The affected areas in this home will be repaired and we will move on, but we will never forget the efforts of the first responders. Thank you for all you do!
Frank A. Male,
Eudora
