Letter to the editor: Convict him

To the editor:

Donald Trump must be convicted and disqualified from running for office. Trump’s remarks at the rally on Jan. 6 make him liable for prosecution for at least three federal crimes: inciting insurrection, sedition and advocating the violent overthrow of the government. The mob he sent to sack the Capitol intended to assassinate Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others. If Trump is not convicted and disqualified, he will resume holding rallies, continually pushing the big lie that he was the real victor in 2020, threatening further social and political divisions. I demand that our senators vote for conviction and disqualification of former President Donald Trump.

William Kirk Snavely,

Lawrence
