Letter to the editor: Let’s all agree

To the editor:

Choice to go hybrid, choice to stay remote. These were issues facing our K-12 families while the University of Kansas prepared for a 10,000-spectator home football game. What is our priority, Lawrence? Where are community leaders when the fight to educate our community’s children is overshadowed by university profits. We have to get on the same page if we are to get ahead. The school board’s 4-3 decision on hybrid learning leaves so many families now struggling to educate in the next phase as we work to reopen our schools. This is not possible if we, Lawrence and KU operate independently. We must agree. If we don’t, we all will fail.

Kay Emerson,

Lawrence
