To the editor:

If the city is open to other solutions, I propose an alternate route to exit the Lawrence Youth Complex. Build the road south to Road 458 (North 1200 Road). Traffic could then go east to U.S. Highway 59, or turn west, then north to Clinton Parkway. When construction starts on Kansas Highway 10, trying to exit via Clinton Parkway will be a traffic nightmare, and will continue to be until construction is complete, two plus years? The current plan to exit the sports complex would deny the Mutt Run dogs and people the gravel road used during wet weather. The proposed chain link fence to separate the vehicle traffic from the dogs and walkers will be a constant eyesore because trash thrown from departing vehicles will be blown up against the fence.
