Letter to the editor: Can’t lock a tent

To the editor:

I appreciate the Journal-World’s article on homelessness and the city’s actions that aggravate it.

I would like to see some follow-up. For example, one friend who was kicked out of her trailer is now in jail.

I’m sure that some people who moved various places are still insecurely housed and maybe on the street again.

The article also implied that camping out might be OK. Thinking of the pouring rain we’ve had — no tent will keep you or your goods dry in that amount of rain. If people leave their tents to go into towns, there is no protection for their few but precious belongings.

The people don’t go away.
