Letter to the editor: Find time to think

To the editor:

I ponder quite a bit in my old age. Currently I am pondering about politics. I speculate about the news commentary if a delegation of Democrats promised China they would wipe out all tariffs if they only controlled the Congress. And then my mind imagines them handing over a list of all the Republicans who are up for election in 2020 and saying, “I think some of these candidates are corrupt but I can’t find the proof. Could you help investigate them?”

My wandering mind gets very excited by the possible outcomes of that quid pro quo. This may keep me pondering all day the responses from various groups. Who feels what? And why?

Free time when you are old offers so many fun things to think about. I hope my fellow citizens also find time to think.

Lawrence
