Kansas Department of Transportation invites public to meetings throughout October to discuss regional transportation needs

The Kansas Department of Transportation is inviting residents to attend public meetings throughout October to discuss regional transportation needs, including highways, public transit, pedestrian access, and more.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about transportation investments in their area, as well as various grant funding programs available through KDOT. Held every two years, Local Consult meetings give Kansans a chance to ask questions and engage directly with local, state, and federal officials about transportation needs throughout the state, according to a KDOT press release.
There will be nine regional and metro meetings in October, and the public is invited to participate in one or more of the meetings below:
• Pittsburg – 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Pittsburgh Memorial Auditorium, 503 N Pine St.
• Wichita – 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th St. N
• Topeka – 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Maner Conference Centre, 1720 SW Western Ave.
• Pratt – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at Pratt Community College in the Benson Education Center, 348 NE Sr 61
• Liberal – 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Seward County Activity Center, 810 Stadium Road
• Colby – 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at City Limits Convention Center, 2227 S. Range Ave.
• Kansas City – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Great Wolf Lodge, 10401 Cabela Dr.
• Salina – 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 23 at Tony’s Pizza Events Center, 800 The Midway
• Statewide virtual meeting – 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28. To attend, KDOT encourages people to register in advance at https://www.ksdot.gov/local-consult-2025 to attend the virtual meeting.
Before attending the meetings, KDOT is asking people to complete a short survey to provide their input on the state’s transportation system. For more information about the upcoming meetings, people can email KDOT.Engagement@ks.gov.
