Gov. Laura Kelly has ordered flags throughout Kansas to be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds and facilities from sunup on Wednesday to sunset on Thursday in recognition of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

“Today marks the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which over 2,400 Americans lost their lives,” Kelly said in a news release Tuesday. “I encourage all Kansans to join me in remembering those killed on December 7, 1941, and in honoring all veterans and service members who have given the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country.”
