Kids can ride the bus around downtown as part of “Books and Buses” storytime

The Lawrence Transit System is teaming up with the Lawrence Public Library to provide special “Books and Buses” storytimes.

The collaboration between the library and the transit system will feature books about transportation, a bus-themed craft project and a trip on the bus, according to a city news release. Children and their families will be invited to board a city bus for a short trip around downtown.

There will be two “Books and Buses” storytimes. The storytimes will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Friday in the auditorium of the library, 707 Vermont St. The bus trip around downtown will start around 11 a.m.
