A 45-year-old Lenexa man is facing three felony charges after he allegedly burglarized a KU fraternity.

Lawrence police arrested Ryan Craig Woods — with the assistance of camera footage — Thursday pursuant to a warrant.

The break-in allegedly occurred on Aug. 22. Two charges of aggravated residential burglary list a fraternity house at 1425 Tennessee St., the Beta Theta Pi house, as the site of the offense. A third charge of attempted aggravated residential burglary does not list an address.

Lawrence police posted on social media Friday that the incident involved two fraternity houses. They said the fraternity cameras caught the man in the act, “but identifying him took work.” They did not specify what he did or took during the alleged break-ins.

A license plate reader camera in Lawrence reportedly connected Woods to the images captured in the fraternity camera footage.

Police then traveled to Lenexa to execute a search warrant and take him into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
