Body recovered at Clinton Lake where kayaker disappeared Sunday evening

The Douglas County’s Underwater Search and Recovery team located the body of a kayaker Monday morning at Clinton Lake after he disappeared in the water Sunday evening.
The dive team located the body of the 20-year-old Olathe man in an area where witnesses said he went underwater around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday near Clinton Marina and didn’t resurface, according to a social media post from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The team suspended the search at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, according to 911-connected mobile app PulsePoint, due to darkness, but resumed the search at daylight on Monday morning.
The sheriff’s office’s post offered condolences to the man’s family and friends.
