Three local law enforcement leaders will respond to questions that have been on the minds of area residents during an event Saturday hosted by the NAACP.
The event, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St., will feature Douglas County Sheriff Jay Armbrister, Lawrence Police Chief Rich Lockhart and University of Kansas Police Chief Nelson Mosley. The three officials will respond to prepared questions based on previously collected community feedback about various issues.
The questions will address U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Lawrence, hiring and training practices, updates on traffic-stop data, how officers are responding to mental health crises and more.
The event is free and open to the public.
