An Olathe man was arrested Friday night and accused of fleeing officers on Kansas Highway 10, according to a social media post from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
About 10:40 p.m., a deputy spotted a motorcycle speeding west on K-10, according to the post. The deputy had previously heard from Eudora police about a motorcycle that had failed to move over from a traffic stop, and the deputy gave chase onto the South Lawrence Trafficway when the motorcyclist fled from an attempted stop near the K-10 Iowa Street exit. The motorcycle made an illegal U-turn at the bridge over Clinton Parkway and headed east. Deputies caught up with it near Nieder Road and 31st Street, took the driver into custody and towed the motorcycle.
According to the Douglas County Jail booking log, Yansel Sarria Garcia, 30, was booked Friday on suspicion of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement while engaging in reckless driving.
