Lawrence police investigating after woman found with life-threatening injuries from stabbing

Lawrence police are investigating on Thursday after a woman they described as elderly was found stabbed in a residence in the Barker neighborhood in eastern Lawrence.

Officers were called to a house just before 1 p.m. in the 700 block of Beatnik Court, where they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to a release from the Lawrence Police Department.

The woman was found alone and was unable to provide many details to police before she was taken to an area trauma center by Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews, the release said.

Investigators did not have any suspect information to provide to the public at the time of the release around 3 p.m. Thursday. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call dispatch at 785-843-0250 or Crime Stoppers at 785-843-8477.
