Editor’s Note: The Journal-World is making a change in its coverage of arrests that result in felony criminal charges.

It is our intention to publish — Monday through Friday on LJWorld.com and Tuesday through Saturday in the print edition of the Journal-World — a list of individuals who have both been booked into the Douglas County jail and charged with a felony-level offense by the Douglas County District Attorney’s office.

Being charged with a felony crime is serious and important, and we believe the community benefits from having easy access to that information. However, we also believe it is incumbent on readers to use the information responsibly. Just because someone has been charged with a crime doesn’t mean they are guilty of the alleged crime.

Below, you can find the first edition of the community’s felony crime report.

Below is a list of individuals who have been arrested and charged with a felony crime in Douglas County. Due to lag times in charging and records processing, the reporting period for this report is from 5 p.m. Thursday to 5 p.m. Tuesday to include the holiday weekend.

Defendants listed should be presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Charges filed by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office may change after they are initially filed as additional investigations are conducted and evidence is submitted.

The Journal-World reports on the conclusion of many felony cases in Douglas County, but not all. Anyone can check on the resolution of a criminal case by inspecting the court file at the Douglas County District Court Clerk’s Office at the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center.
