Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews put out a fire in a garage in the 2000 block of New Hampshire Street on Sunday in Lawrence.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded Sunday afternoon to a fire in the 2000 block of New Hampshire Street.

Eight units comprising 21 firefighters were dispatched to the site at 3:58 p.m., where they found a detached garage engulfed in flames, according to an email from LDCFM. The fire was declared under control within 10 minutes and was limited to the garage and two vehicles.

At one point, there were concerns that people were trapped inside, the email stated, but nobody was found and no injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
