A Lawrence man was charged on Wednesday with two counts of rape and other sex crimes.

Travis Lee Turner, 36, is charged in Douglas County District Court with two counts of rape by force or fear and two counts of aggravated sodomy, all felonies, according to charging documents. The charges are in connection with an incident on May 13 and all involve the same woman.

Turner was arrested at his home around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, and the charges were filed by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office Wednesday morning.

Turner is being held on a $150,000 cash or surety bond and is next scheduled to appear in court on May 22 for a status conference.
