Van rolls over in 2-vehicle crash at Sixth and Vermont streets

A two-vehicle crash in which a van rolled upside down disrupted traffic in downtown Lawrence on Saturday.
The crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Sixth and Vermont streets. Two vehicles at the intersection were heavily damaged — one, a gray Chrysler Town and Country van, was on its roof on Vermont Street, and the other, a white Chevrolet Impala, was in the intersection with its airbags deployed. The van had a temporary handicapped tag on it.
One person was seen on a stretcher at the scene but was not put in an ambulance. Police were directing traffic at the intersection.
