A water line break at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center early Thursday morning has necessitated that the water be shut off, interrupting normal operations in the building.
No estimate was available on when the water line at 111 E. 11th St. would be repaired. The line break, which occurred on the east side of the building, did not cause damage to the inside of the building. The cause of the break was not immediately known, but a county spokesperson said it was not related to construction of an addition to the south side of the building.
Court services are available and scheduled to remain open, a news release from the county said. The public and employees can use services in the historic courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., which is next door.
A jury trial is being moved to the historic courthouse in the County Commission meeting room.
