A woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after crashing into a concrete pillar near a highway on-ramp in Lawrence.

According a press release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to the single-vehicle crash at 10:30 a.m. near the 23rd Street ramp to Kansas Highway 10. Initial reports say a 20-year-old driver was traveling east on 23rd Street before crashing into a pillar under the East 1750 Road Bridge.

She was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
