A motorcyclist died in a crash at the intersection of 21st Street and Naismith Drive on Friday, Lawrence police said on social media.

The post on the Lawrence Police Department’s Facebook page said the crash, which involved a motorcycle and a car, happened at about 4:15 p.m. Friday. The driver of the car was not seriously injured, police said.

Police advised drivers to avoid the area, which is a few blocks away from the University of Kansas campus.
