Police seek information in woman’s shooting; man brought in for questioning after chase

A woman arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound, and a man who is believed to have dropped her off was taken in for questioning after a brief chase Saturday night.
According to a social media post from the Lawrence Police Department, the woman, who was shot in the arm, was dropped off just before midnight, and the man who drove her there left on foot. Responding officers spotted a man matching his description at Clinton Park and took him into custody at a parking lot near Sixth and Maine streets after a short foot chase.
Detectives spoke with the man overnight to try to piece together the events leading up to the shooting, the release states, but details were still unclear Sunday morning. The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.
