New York man extradited to Douglas County to face child solicitation charge; bond set at $250K

A New York man has been extradited to Douglas County to face a charge that he engaged in electronic solicitation of a child.

The man, Kyle Anthony Elder, of Tonawanda, New York, was booked into the Douglas County Jail at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, and his bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety.

Elder made his first appearance in court via video from the jail Thursday afternoon, and Judge Sally Pokorny ordered additional restrictions to be placed on him should be make bond, including that he have no contact with the alleged victim or with any other minors and that he have no access to the internet.

Pokorny appointed defense attorney Hatem Chahine to represent Elder and set his next court appearance for Wednesday.
