Topeka police are investigating after a Lawrence man was shot to death Saturday in the capital city.

Around midnight Saturday, officers with the Topeka Police Department responded to the 2900 block of SW Topeka Boulevard in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound, and that person — later identified as Earon Cooper, 31 — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from police.
