A woman died after crashing into another vehicle on Monday night in western Douglas County.

The woman, Zipporah Koimburi, 48, of Wakarusa, Kansas, was driving a Toyota Prius west just before 9:30 p.m. on North 1700 Road. As she was driving on a curve in the road near East 50 Road, her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 21-year-old Olathe woman, according to an email from George Diepenbrock, spokesperson with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Koimburi was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka where she later died, Diepenbrock said. The Olathe woman suffered minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital, Diepenbrock said.

Wakarusa is a small town south of Topeka in Shawnee County.
