A Lawrence man was arrested on Saturday in connection with sex crimes involving a teenager for an alleged incident in 2020.
Trystan James Williams, 22, is facing charges in Douglas County District Court of one felony count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child between the ages of 14 and 16, and one felony count of criminal sodomy with a child between the ages of 14 and 16. The incident is alleged to have occurred in December of 2020.
Williams was taken into custody in connection with the charges by Tonganoxie police and was transferred into the custody of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office around 9 p.m. Saturday near the Douglas and Leavenworth County line, said George Diepenbrock, spokesperson with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams was released Tuesday afternoon on a $10,000 own-recognizance bond, meaning he was not required to pay any money to be released from jail but may be charged that amount if he fails to appear for court. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office declined to release Williams’ booking photo.
