A Lawrence man who is on parole for a burglary conviction has been charged in Douglas County District Court with exploitation of a child.

The man, Timothy Scot Brown, 53, faces one felony count of sexual exploitation for allegedly possessing a photograph of a child in the nude on or about Jan. 24, 2023, according to charging documents. He first appeared in court on Tuesday.

Brown was convicted in Douglas County in 2020 for felony burglary and attempted burglary and in 2019 for aggravated domestic battery and criminal threat, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.
