An Overland Park man’s body was found last week at Clinton Lake, and detectives are waiting on an autopsy report to see how he died, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The office confirmed that the man found was Philando White, 50, of Overland Park.

Douglas County sheriff’s deputies and a game warden with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks were called around 10 a.m. Thursday to a campsite in the 600 block of North 1415 Road at Clinton State Park for a welfare check on an unconscious person, said George Diepenbrock, a spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, deputies discovered White was deceased.

Diepenbrock said no additional information would be provided at this time, and he declined to comment on whether foul play was suspected in White’s death.
