Lawrence man charged with possession of child pornography

A Lawrence man was arrested Thursday on a warrant and has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The man, Joshua William Spence, 41, is charged in Douglas County District Court with one felony count of sexual exploitation of a child for possessing a photograph of a child in the nude, according to charging documents. The charge is in connection with an incident on July 19, 2022.
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies arrested Spence around 12:40 p.m. Thursday at his home. He is being held on a $15,000 cash or surety bond.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has declined to release Spence’s booking photo.
