A flipped car closed the southbound bridge over the Kansas River for about 90 minutes early Sunday morning.

Police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded to the upside down vehicle, where three people — a 19-year-old driver and two 18-year-old passengers — were found with no serious injuries, according a Facebook post from the Lawrence Police Department. None of the car’s occupants requested medical attention.

According to the post, no other cars were involved, but officers found a concrete barrier that looked like it had been struck. The bridge was closed from about 4:45 to 6:15 a.m., and police said there didn’t appear to be any structural damage.

Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the post.

The Douglas County Jail log shows that Kyra Tyrea West, 19, of Turkey, North Carolina, was arrested in the 500 block of Vermont Street around 5:15 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of DUI.
