A student at Cordley Elementary School found a bullet on the floor of the school on Tuesday, according to an email to students’ families from the school’s principal.

The email from Principal Rebecca Reaver, which was forwarded to the Journal-World by a person on the Cordley email list, said that school staff spoke with “all students close to the incident” and searched the area where the bullet was discovered but “found nothing else of concern.”

“We are unclear at this time how this object found its way to school, but I will update you if/when I learn more,” Reaver wrote in the email.

Reaver’s email did not say whether law enforcement had been contacted about the incident.
