Motorcyclist taken to LMH after crash on county road

An Olathe man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on North 1950 Road.

In an email, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman George Diepenbrock said a 55-year-old Olathe man was eastbound in the 1400 block of North 1950 Road on a 2022 Aprilia motorcycle when his front tire got too close to the edge of the gravel roadway. The man, whom the Sheriff’s Office has not yet identified, was thrown from the motorcycle into the ditch.

He was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after complaining of rib pain, Diepenbrock wrote.
