Serious injuries reported in early morning crash

At least three people were injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 40 in northwestern Douglas County early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the 200 block of U.S. 40 at 12:07 a.m. for a two-vehicle crash.

One of the vehicles was reported to have been on fire after the crash, and at least two people were trapped in their vehicle.

Radio traffic indicated that two people were in critical condition, and a third had serious injuries.

Lawrence-Douglas County ambulances took all three people to Stormont Vail Health in Topeka.
