Emergency crews responded Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, to an accident at the TeePee Junction intersection in North Lawrence.

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a vehicle accident Friday morning in North Lawrence in which a car and a semitrailer apparently collided.

Multiple crews were at the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m., including two ambulances.

The wrecked vehicles were southbound on U.S. Highway 59 at the TeePee Junction intersection.

U.S. 59 was still open in both directions as crews worked the scene.

The woman who was driving a black four-door Acura appeared to have minor injuries but declined further medical treatment at the scene and was not taken to the hospital.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation indicated that “a semitrailer was southbound and in the turning lane waiting to turn left from U.S. 24-59 onto U.S. 24-40. The driver of the Acura car, which was also southbound, had veered into part of the turning lane and clipped the semitrailer.”

The sheriff’s office said no one at the scene was taken to the hospital.
