Woman arrested after allegedly pulling knife while riding bus

A Lawrence woman was arrested Saturday after she allegedly pulled a knife on an acquaintance riding with her on a Lawrence bus.

According to an email Sunday from Lawrence Police Department spokeswoman Laura McCabe, police were called to a bus at about 4:39 p.m. Saturday at 3800 Greenway Circle when two women, who apparently knew each other, started arguing. The incident escalated when one of the women briefly brandished a knife before putting it away.

Passengers on the bus notified the police, who arrested the woman accused of drawing the knife. The police drove the other woman to her destination and allowed the bus to continue on its route, McCabe wrote.

According to Douglas County Jail booking logs, Amanda Marie Frazier, 32, was booked into jail at 5 p.m. Saturday after her arrest at 3800 Greenway Circle in the alleged assault.
